Rachel Folz here and it’s a pleasure to meet you.
It’s been my dream since getting into product that one day I’d be ready to join the ranks of your creators to build a better future for all Kroger shoppers.
So, what do I bring to the table? Well, to start, I’ve spent the last 5 years running fast and breaking all sorts of things at a successful Cincinnati area start up. I am confident, capable, tested, and I get stuff done.
Recent accomplishments ⛰️
Here’s a look at some of my most recent wins. For a look at my most recent failures, you are going to have to book a call with me. But really, I’d be happy to share those as well. They are the best teacher. It’s how we learn to serve our customers better.
Sharing Links and Teams App
Teams has become a major channel of communications for Microsoft shops around the world. So we created a new channel for employees to receive news and info without disrupting the important work they are doing.
Acknowledge This, Please
Our communicators were telling us that they had messages coming from “on high” that needed some sort of second check that the end user was reading it. We knew this wasn’t a common, daily action, so we worked on make the solution a great balance of lean and capable.
We were growing our channel offerings, but our Insights couldn’t keep up. I needed some metrics that could go across email, website, collab tools, and mobile. There were no industry standards for this since our product is the first of its type. So I dug deep into my bag of tricks and researched across many analytics platforms to understand the ‘why’ behind common data points. The solution came in the form of unifying sessions and impressions metrics.
Mobile App & Sharepoint
With these concurrent releases, we created the industry’s first ever omnichannel comms product. We were able to battle the Apple and Microsoft App Stores to get what we needed into market. Oh, and it kicked off an arms race for our competition.
Cerkl (pronounced circle) is a tough name and our prospects were having trouble with it. I didn’t want people to feel confused about our product before they even had a demo. So I renamed the product “Broadcast” and challenged my design team to create a new look, color scales, and a put up a branding site to serve as the source of truth for implementation and beyond. The result? Huge growth and instant adoption.
In comms, your lists are your life. But our communicators were having the hardest time wrestling control from IT. So I talked to customers, and studied the competition and came back with a new product idea – Dynamic Segments. We were able to design it, test it and get it out in just 6 weeks. It’s been a game changer for staff and customers alike.
Admin Permissions Overhaul
Thanks to some very big name logos, our our userbase had become more complex. I created a new permissions framework that focused on the feature instead of random bundles.
Bringing Alerts to Newsletters
We pioneered the channel strategy with this enhancement that redesigned our automated newsletters to include notifications.
I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know me. I’d love to hear more about your challenges and have a conversation about how my skill set could help.
